The reader might imagine taking a big cooking pot and tossing in some ingredients. Begin with a copious amount of whiskey broth. Certainly stir in, many hearty dashes of Garrison Keillor and Will Rogers. Then add several cupfuls of Mark Twain and Tristan Jones. Don’t forget dollops and spoonfuls more of Edgar Allan Poe and Woody Guthrie. Stir it all around. Maybe, that’s the book. Too little fun in this life, I think.
